Cheero Point, situated along the west bank of Mooney Mooney Creek in the Brisbane Water National Park, is a waterfront suburb in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located 53 kilometers north of Sydney. Originally part of the suburb of Mooney Mooney, it gained independent recognition in 2003 due to community pressure. The area, established through a land subdivision in 1918, faced challenges in the 1990s when landslides near Jolls Bridge led to the closure of a section of the Pacific Highway for several years, causing significant disruptions. Despite community efforts and the eventual reopening of the highway in June 1994, the incident left a mark on Cheero Point`s history. The suburb is surrounded by the Pacific Motorway, Mooney Mooney Creek, and the Brisbane Water National Park. Transportation options include approximately 30 weekly buses departing from Cheero Point Rd and Cararma Pkwy.
